Data Manifestation

Data Manifestation (2020)

Transforming data into interactive experiences

Designed and created interactive experiences that transformed data into tangible forms, using 3D-printed sculptures, animations, and sensory objects to make complex information more engaging and relatable.
In India, 1 in 8 deaths are attributed to air pollution.
What if objects around us show us what this mean? These set of concepts explored the idea of what if 1/8th of your life missing

Due to the growing importance of data in understanding global issues, communicating complex information in engaging ways needs to be a priority. Unfortunately, most data visualization approaches focus on charts and graphs, making the data feel distant and impersonal.

What if your phone becomes buggy everytime the air quality is bad?

As a part of Slow Studio, we wanted to explore new ways to make data more tangible and meaningful. We worked on manifesting data through three-dimensional sculptures and interactive experiences that allowed people to physically engage with the information.

OUTCOME
  • Turned data sets into 3D-printed sculptures displayed at the Dubai Global Expo
  • Created animations to show data change over time
  • Designed whimsical objects, like a soap dispenser that changes color based on air quality
  • Explored how data could be experienced through senses like taste and smell, like a leaking tap to symbolize water-related diseases.
